How booming collects, uses and protects personal data, in line with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
booming provides an AI platform that turns business conversations into action. Where a customer organisation uses booming, that organisation decides why conversations are recorded and booming processes the data on its behalf. For our own website and sales enquiries, booming is the organisation responsible for the personal data.
Conversation data: call recordings, meeting audio, and messages from channels such as WeChat and WhatsApp that a customer organisation connects.
Derived data: transcripts, summaries, customer status, to-dos and drafted follow-ups created from that content.
Account and website data: names, work email addresses, company and usage information that you give us or that our site collects.
We collect, use and disclose personal data only for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate and that have been notified to you. For conversation data, the customer organisation must tell participants that a conversation is being recorded and obtain their consent before recording. See our Recording & Consent guide.
We use personal data to provide and improve the service, secure accounts, respond to enquiries and meet legal obligations.
Conversation data is not used to train general models unless the customer organisation explicitly opts in. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected or as required by law. Customer organisations control retention periods for their workspace and can delete recordings and derived data on request.
Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, we take steps to ensure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA, for example through contractual safeguards with our service providers.
You may ask to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual limits. If your data sits in a customer organisation's workspace, we will direct your request to that organisation.
If a data breach is likely to cause significant harm or affects a significant number of people, we will notify the Personal Data Protection Commission and affected individuals as the PDPA requires.
